Description: This Layer was created from U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line files and is related to the Counties Layer in terms of geography or boundaries. This statewide Layer differs in that it does not contain the 7 additional fields of data that describe the various planning areas of the 29-county Atlanta Region. Although other county datasets are available at the state and local level, ARC uses this federal dataset as it is built from census tracts which are fundamental to ARC's population and employment estimates and forecasts. Please note that recent changes along the Henry County and Butts County line, as well as some other minor differences, are not reflected in this Layer.
